I have this problem where I often sit at my craft table with no specific project in mind and just look through all the crap I've been hoarding to find inspiration. I forget why, but one day I had this purple ribbon that I desperately wanted to use for something. It happened to fit perfectly around this white basket that was holding my acrylic paints.
Step 1: Get a basket
Step 2: Weave a thick ribbon through the slots of the basket. Make sure to come up with some sort of pattern so the corners are all covered evenly. You'll know what I'm talking about once you begin to weave the ribbon through.
Step 3: Wrap a strong wire around the stem of a fake flower. I wrapped it a couple of times to make sure it didn't fall off. Leave extra wire for the next step.
Step 4: For the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to attach the flower and have it stay up nice and sturdy. I really impressed myself on this next one. It took forever for me to figure out the best way of doing this, but I settled with putting the extra wire (from the last step) into the two holes of a button. I pulled the wire tight and used the button to hold up the flower through the hole. Genius, I know.
And there you have it... my new decorative basket for my acrylic paints. Pretty darn easy, right?
