New House & Moving Day

We did it!!! Our patience paid off and four months after we sold our house, we finally got the keys to my dream home! I had a lot of dream homes during those four months, but after lots of perseverance and patience, this one finally became ours.

We are so beyond proud of it. It is in a perfect neighborhood and meets all of the specs on our original wish list. We wake up everyday and are just in awe that it is ours.

Day 1 in our new house was spent cleaning and painting. Our amazing realtor had the carpets and entire house cleaned for us when we walked in, so there wasn't really much to do.

On day 2, we had our POD delivered and John's sister and brother-in-law came over to help us empty it. Luckily, his sister married into a family who owns a moving company, so they were able to use the truck to bring some larger items over to us.

The picture on the left is titled "Moving Day". That's pretty much all we had in our fridge for a couple of days. Until one night when John had to run to Home Depot for more paint and I found some Ben & Jerry's in the bag.
He knows me so well :)

For some reason we always run into major problems with our ice maker. This was just too funny not to take a picture of. With both of our houses, it literally took 3 trips to Home Depot before we got the darn thing working.

So now it begins. Months of projects, painting and decorating. I've decided to reveal rooms one-by-one as they become complete. With this house, we had plenty of time to prepare and lots of ideas from Pinterest to help us create our perfect home. I'm really excited to show you what we have done. It will be a slow process, but I assure you that I have some really exciting projects up my sleeve. Or should I say "our sleeves", because let's be honest, John usually does most of the work.
