So this is pretty much your basic back-of-the-box Bisquick shortcake recipe, but John made a few changes that make it even better. He also put a little 4th of July twist on them!
{P.S. I don't cook/bake, so most recipes I will post on this blog are made by my wonderful husband, John!}
- 2 1/3 cup Bisquick
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 3 tbsp butter (melted)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
2. Mix dry ingredients
3. Pour in melted butter, milk & vanilla
4. Mix using blender until it turns into a thick doughy substance
5. Drop 3" round clumps onto non-stick cookie tray
6. Sprinkle with cinnamon
7. Bake 12-15 minutes
Make sure the shortcakes aren't doughy when they come out. Test by cutting "hamburger" style. Once cooked, cut them all "hamburger" style, plop a dollop of cool whip on the bottom layer, top with bright red strawberries and {dark blue} blackberries, then plop another dollop of whip on the fruit. Top it off with the other half of the shortcake and serve.
Yummmmmmmm!!
