10 Taylor Swift Songs That Don't End With A Breakup

Taylor is my girl. She always has been, always will be no matter how old I get. My only problem with her is that I have a real hard time relating to her songs. Don't get me wrong. I love them, own all of them and have every single one memorized, but most of her love songs don't mean anything to me.

I don't mean to brag, but I'm going to anyway. #sorrynotsorry
My {now} husband and I met and started dating when I was 14 years old. At age 14 I hadn't started dating boys yet, so he was my first boyfriend {& by first I mean only}. We never went through any "rough patches" or break-ups, so this whole relationship thing has always gone pretty well for me. People used to think we were crazy at such a young age, but when you know you know, you know?

So back to my girl. I wanted to come up with ten of her love songs that didn't end in a break-up. Do you know how hard that is? I went through every single one of her songs and could only come up with nine. Read through this list and help me out if I'm missing some. The titles of each song are clickable so you can listen along.

1. Ours:
This is one is my favorite. It's about people disapproving of the relationship, but her doing it anyway. I don't really relate to that part, but my all time favorite quote is in this song. "People throw rocks at things that shine."

2.  Stay Stay Stay:
This could have ended poorly, but he managed to "stay". Not in real life though. Poor Taylor.

3. Our Song:
This one is especially fun to sing with your friends really loudly in the car.

4. Mine:
John kind of did make a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter. We used to manually change our old-school cell phones back in time so that we would have proof for why we were past curfew. "Look, our phones both say 9:55!"

5. Sparks Fly:
All I can think of is watching her sing this live in concert. Favorite line: "I'm captivated by you baby like a firework show."

6. Starlight:
This song was written about Ethel and Bobby Kennedy. It reminds me of our wedding. The whole place was dressed to the nines and we were dancin'.

7. Today Was A Fairytale:
This doesn't link to an official Taylor Swift video, but these two little kids sure are cute. Doesn't the boy look just like JTT? I basically think of this song after every really good day.

8. I'm Only Me When I'm With You:
If you watch the video, you'll see that this song can apply to friendships as well as relationships. I love it because although I do have friends who accept me for me, there are still some things I shelter them from. But my husband? He really gets to see the whole package. Messy hair, bad breath, un-matching sweat outfits every weekend and everything in between.

9. Love Story:
This is a classic story of Romeo & Juliet. In summary, it takes a while to get there, but they end up together.

10. ?????
Do you have one that I forgot? I'm looking for love songs that don't involve her being ignored by the guy or any mention of breaking up. Good luck.

  1. Perhaps Mary's Song (Oh My My My) could be your number 10? It's actually a pretty cute song by Taylor, one of my favourites.

    Great list!

  2. I totally love Taylor! She's my favorite, and I get so aggravated when people bash her. She's so very talented, and she's definitely a role model for young girls unlike some other artists now. *cough*MILEY CYRUS*cough* One of my favorite songs from her is "The Best Day." It's not really a love song, but it's about family, and I love that. :)
