3rd of July Sausage Fest

Our 3rd annual 3rd of July Sausage Fest was a success! Our town celebrates Independence Day on the 3rd of July, so we started a tradition 3 years ago of having friends over for sausages, games and fireworks.

I love an excuse to decorate, so I pulled together this tablescape using scrapbook paper as the table runner, paper stars as confetti and all other red, white and blue items I could find around the house. {Confetti can be found in my Etsy shop here.}

I can pull together decorations like no one's business, but ask me to cook or bake and I am completely lost. Luckily we have some talented friends who brought festive treats!

Street Bocce is kind of a big deal at our house. John made up a cement version of Bocce Ball using chalk and weighted fitness balls. He has some silly rules, but the game actually does make sense and it gets pretty competitive sometimes. I'm pretty sure this might be the only reason people keep showing up. #StreetBocceFTW

Once day turned into night, we watched fireworks and performed choreographed sparkler routines. It got a little out of hand when my dear friend Li'l D decided it would be a great idea to light, and hold, an entire box at once.

And then this happened... I posted a video on Instagram of Li'l D getting herself into this situation.

Happy 4th of July, I hope you have a relaxing and safe weekend!
