DIY Burner Cover Turned {Magnetic} Corkboard

It has been a long time since I sat in my craft room and actually worked on a project. I don't know why, but I think I got overwhelmed with all of my options and ended up spending the last week or so sitting on the couch rather than being creative.

After work, I decided today was the day to get back into my crafting groove. So, here it is: DIY Dollar Store burner covers turned into a {magnetic} cork board. {Tricky, huh?}

I started with this totally attractive burner cover from the dollar store and wrapped the side with my new washi tape that I got from Pick Your Plum.

Then, I traced a circle on this tricky dicky corkboard scrapbook paper. I sprayed the top of the burner cover with spray adhesive and stuck it on.

I had these paint strips laying around, so I traced out little flags from each.

The bakers twine was attached by putting Zots on the back of each flag, then sticking it on the corkboard, thus securing the twine to the cover. It was a "kill two birds with one Zot" move. As you can see, I also attached cute little white clothes pins that I got from Paper Source, but they have no actual use.

I had these magnet circles hanging around already, so I Zot-ed buttons to the magnets to make them more attractive.

I had to come up with a way for this to hang on the wall, so I used the bakers twine again and secretly secured it using another layer of washi tape. Now it just kind of disappears into the tin.

Here is a side shot...

This was the kind of quick and easy project I needed. Hopefully I get back in my groove here soon!
