Thanksgiving

I know this is kind of late, but I wanted to show off all of the crafts I made for our family's Thanksgiving meal last week. We had about 20 people there and I was in charge of decorating.

My first project was to wrap mason jars in twine to make flower vases. I started at the top and used a Zot (glue dot) to keep the string on at the beginning. From there, I just wrapped and wrapped and wrapped until it was completely covered. It took forever because you have to wrap it really tight and make sure there are no empty spots. Once you get to the bottom, just stick on another Zot and attach the last piece of string. Fill with festive plants and you're done!

My other decorations were these bowls with different items in them. I painted some pumpkins and pine cones gold then stuck them in with regular colored mini pumpkins, pine cones and flowers.

This is the first banner I've made on my Silhouette. If you can't tell, it says "Give Thanks". I layered three shapes (base triangle with scalloped edges, a straight edged triangle & individual letters) to make each part of the banner and attached them with glue tape. I punched two holes at the top of each and ran a ribbon through it to hang it up.

The last decoration I came up with was a frame with this image in it. I had the gold candles and holders already, then put one of my left over painted pumpkins next to it.

Other than decorating for dinner, I had a lot of fun with my family. Here are a couple of pics we took at Cal Poly's bowling alley.

This is me getting my 2nd strike...
