Hawaiian Babymoon

John and I were lucky enough to sneak off to Maui for a couple of days for our babymoon before Thanksgiving. Two things we learned on this trip: 1) After having gone to Mexico already 3 times together, we much prefer Hawaii. Same language, shorter trip, less culture shock. Our kind of place! 2. We are homebodies and overall busy people, so we aren't huge on the idea of going on week-long vacations.

We got there early on a Friday, and came home late on Tuesday. Due to the time difference, that gave us about 4+ days to enjoy our time away, which was perfect for us.

Baby News

Lots of things have happened since I last updated my little corner of the Internet. Most importantly...

Considering I'm writing this post at 40 weeks, this is old news by now. Our baby boy should be here any minute... literally. Hopefully. Please come out, child.
John and I had fun coming up with creative ways to first tell our family, then the rest of the world. We made custom onesies for each family member, which was so fun to watch their reactions because not one of them was expecting it (although 12 years into this relationship and 4 years into marriage, I don't see how they couldn't have!).

We have somehow managed to build up this reputation of being super creative people, so we felt a lot of pressure to do something really unique for our announcement. Neither of us are too into pictures of ourselves and our dogs couldn't be any more uncooperative if we tried. We didn't want to steal any ideas off Pinterest, so after a few months of brainstorming, we managed to create this fun stop motion video. We're so happy with how it turned out and we managed to live up to everyone's high expectations. Phew.

John's other hilariously creative history-teacher rap videos:

How silly is he?? I'm so excited for him to become a dad. Our kids are going to be so embarrassed, especially when they're in high school and he's their history teacher. I can't wait!

I'm off to walk this baby out of me. We're so excited to meet him, but I think he's a little too cozy in there!
